Grafton: The World War II Monument Committee of the Grafton Historical Society has scheduled the dedication of Grafton’s World War II outdoor monument for Veterans Day Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Grafton Common. Everyone is invited to participate as the monument is formally presented to the town.
“We are grateful for the many individuals, businesses and organizations who contributed to make this monument a fitting tribute to our World War II veterans. On this Veterans Day, we look forward to welcoming all living Grafton World War II veterans and their families, and the families of those veterans who are no longer with us,” noted Grafton Historical Society President Linda Casey.

On Veterans Day, we come together to pay tribute to the men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces. Americans across this land commemorate the patriots who have risked their lives to preserve the liberty of our Nation, the families who support them, and the heroes no longer with us. This year we especially honor all of our Grafton residents who served in World War II. Guests will gather on the Grafton Common by 10:45 AM. The Honor Guard will be provided by the Grafton Delisle Goulet American Legion Post 92 and Grafton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1497. Veterans Day and Monument Dedication ceremonies will begin at the traditional hour of 11:00 AM. Following the ceremonies, there will be a reception in the lower hall of the Congregational Church hosted by the World War II Monument Committee.
